Imputed Righteousness
Romans 4:17-24 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
23Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Yahushua our Lord from the dead; 25Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Read Romans chapters 4-5, the imputation of righteousness is only through faith an act which we perform, true it is a free gift but only by the divine influence upon our hearts, we must believe and walk in the Spirit of truth, Not in the unrighteousness of sin. Yet we have an advocate, that if we transgress the covenant, humble ourselves before that throne of grace, confess the transgression He is faithful and just to forgive us and restore our righteous position.
I John 2:1-2 1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Yahushua the Messiah the righteous: 2And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Communion is the work of faith to cleanse us of our unrighteousness!
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James 4:7-10 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
I John 1:9 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When we are first saved, we are cleansed. Our walk after that is up to us, you can walk in the Spirit as God is writing His laws upon your heart, the New Covenant, or you can walk like the old man and be afflicted not by satan but by God in fulfilling His word.
II Peter 1:4-10 9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Old sins, do you keep making new ones? Take communion that act of faith.
Are your eyes open, let divine influence and truth abound in your life.
Father thank You for the truth of Your Son’s sacrifice.
